Mitec’s system for indoor climate and work environment

Measurement gives you a solid base for decision-making

Many houses should never have been built. Building booms have promoted quantity at the expense of quality. New materials and methods have not turned out to be as good as was expected. Many technical systems were never run-in properly. And faced with an energy crisis, we learnt to insulate and build tightly-sealed houses.

We are now paying for this with our health. Allergies are increasing, and many people experience general discomfort, fluctuating temperatures, odour and draught. As well as noise.

It’s easy to pass judgement about indoor climate. Everyone has his or her opinion, often based on experiences and feelings, but it’s hard to find the source of a problem in a complex technical system based purely on subjective experience.

To collect the facts requires measurements. Measurements that show how temperature varies, and if and when the ventilation system ventilates. Or if and when there is too much noise.

Measuring equipment is needed that is easy to install and use, and that can present results quickly and clearly.

Mitec’s system is based on portable, battery-operated data loggers to which can be connected different types of measuring sensor. The measuring result is presented as graphs on a PC.
  • Graphing temperature and humidity
  • Recording ventilation efficiency
  • Measuring variations in noise level
  • Detecting emissions from materials
  • Measuring surface temperatures
  • Checking variations in draught and pressure
  • Measuring magnetic fields
